RE: ORA Ozarks- Table Rock Lake

Outdoor Resorts on Table Rock Lake is an extremely nice park. It is a 30-45 minute drive to anywhere. It gets hot and humid in the summer. Highs in the 90s and humid also. When I was there the lake was so high it was hard to tell how narrow that part of the lake is when at normal pool. But there were not many boats on that part of the lake on a holiday weekend. I would recomend visiting the place and see for yourself before even talking about purchasing a lot.

RE: Running generator below 1/4 tank?

You could always pump 30 or 40 gallons of water into the tank, just be sure to drain it before starting the engine.
This could be used in an emergency and would work as diesel floats.
Bad Advice IMO!!

RE: Supernova Ride While Towing

Might want to scale your rig fully loaded including trailer. Then unhook trl and see how much tongue weight you have. Then evaluate the problem from there. Sounds to me like too much weight somewhere. If that is not the case, then replace shocks on the entire truck.

RE: Phaeton underpowered?

I would say the 42 is underpowered and the rest are bare minimum at best. But, I hate for anything I am driving to downshift when going up a hill.

RE: Anyone have a Haulmark Super C?

I have one on the Coronado Chasis. Have had it almost a year now and have put 12500 miles on it. We have had a few normal issues like most all motorhomes have, but overall am happy with it. 2 disadvantages vs DP are 1) more engine noise obviously 2) takes 40 acre field to turn it around. But has many many advantages over a DP.

RE: towing a suburban

Most Class C's can Only Tow:
Chevy 3,500 pounds
Ford 5,000 pounds
You need to look at a DP rated to tow 10,000 pounds...
My Class C is rated to tow 40,000 lbs.

RE: towing a suburban

A motorhome with a tow rating of 7,000 lbs or more will tow it, but not exceeding the GCVWR. Make sure to get the 10,000 rated tow bar also.

RE: Looking for some honest data regarding Ford V10, 6.4L mpg

My 08 F-350 Diesel Single rear wheel crew cab gets 12.1 at best not towing a thing. I like everything about the truck except for the fuel mileage. EPA forcing cleaner air for the 08 model but gets 5-6 MPG worse than the 99 I had??????????? I dont understand how that makes the enviornment any better.

RE: Traction Off Road

Truck Conversions with twin screw rear axles (2 axles) have air lockers that will allow for all 8 tires to pull at slow speeds. However, a friend of mine crossed a grass parking lot in his Seneca after a rain out at a football game. He would have made it to the road if he didnt have to stop for traffic. Slung mud all over it like a 4x4. Was a terrible sight.

RE: weight distribution

Steer Axle= 14,200
Drive Axle= 23,700
Tow Vehicle w/ Golf Cart & 105 Aux Fuel Tank= 10,700
Gross Combined Weight= 49,600
Fully loaded for 2 week trip.
GVWR= 56,660 GCWR=80,000
Still have room for about 30000 more lbs of junk, one huge advantage of a truck conversion!

RE: Class A or Super C

My friend has the Seneca with 4 kids and works great for him. 2 in the overhead bunk and 2 in the beds. The Seneca also has an outdoor TV, remove the one from the halway and plug it up outside. But by all means, I would not make a purchase decision based on whether it has an outside TV or not. You can always buy a TV and store it in the outside compartment of any motorhome. I personaly would look at the Seneca if I was trying to accomodate 4 children.

RE: Tiger Run or Sugar Loafin

Tiger Run has some nice spots. However, you can hear the cars passing constantly on Hwy 9. Just doesnt seem like the mountains of Colorado listening to all that. Plus half the park is house trailers. We were not impressed with Tiger Run.

Fastest route from S. FL to Memphis is Turnpike to I-75 North- I-10 West- Hwy 231 North through Dothan AL- I-65 North to Birmingham AL- Hwy 78 West to Memphis. All 4 lane Hwy. Your total trip would be approx 2500 miles to Grand Canyon

RE: Is a Diesel Super C for me?

Buy the one you want and dont allow the dealer to pursuade you into choosing one over the other. There are plenty of diesel motors that sit most of the time and are not harmed at all.

RE: Dynamax Dnyquest 340XL

Mercedes and Detroit will be the same engine in 2010 in the 15 liter size range for sure. Not 100 % sure about the smaller liter motors that may be in the M2 chasis. However the new DD15 Detroit is nearly as quiet as a light duty pick up truck.
